The student at Djuvland

This is Mathilde, one of my best friends (I don’t like to arrange them), a student living in a cabin by Djuvland in Rauland, Telemark. The last four years I have lived in a relatively crammed and dark apartment. Even though it is partly underground, it is spacious enough and I have made it into my home. Mathilde has taken a different approach to student-housing, studying in probably the smallest towns for higher education in Norway, Rauland in Telemark, living in a tiny cabin by a farm nested between a gorge and the mountians. There are 40, tight-knit fulltime students …

Anyone out there?

Buried deep in curriculum in urbanization processes, when I go out for fresh air, all I see are examples of gentrification. Who’s the brainwashed one now?

First dB

My second consert, Silver supported by Kvelertak. This photo has not been published before, as I only now see that it is quite good! Looking back at the picture I took as a rookie consert photographer is a mixed-bag. My first consert was Rumble in Rhodos, in Grottene of Folken, a then-new club scene. The lighting was two spots and two old lamps with blood-stains (or what was supposed to look like blood). Looking back, I think the pictures are decent, and I can be proud to show them of as the start of what is now a collection of …

Janove Kaizer, watch out, Major Parkison is coming to get you! Dare I swear in church? Dare I commit the great sin of blasphemy? Dare I utter the possibility that there is a new kid on the block, someone going for the throne of The Jackal himself? I think I do… Kaizers Orchestra, I have been a fatihful fan for the last few years and I have even been tormented by the fact that you passed me by for such a long time. But I belive you are starting to loose it. Honestly, how can you sing “Syv Bøtter Tårer” …

Convenient

Yesterday Kings of Convenience demanded that there weren’t to be any photography during the first 30 minutes, and no proffesionals were allowed close to the stage. Also, they closed the bar, special band… …

I feel uneasy in churches, off my game, lost in a familiar world. Especially when the floor disapears from underneath me, litterally. St. Petri church need to mark their steps…

Momentarily

I’ve been in Amsterdam for the weekend, trying to get my head around the city. The bicycling-culture has got an intence presence in the city, and it is getting more and more clear that I want to to a comparative study of it for my master thesis in Urban Design and Planning. But, momentarily I’m stuck in Copenhagen. The transfer from Amsterdam to Stavanger have become an overnight stay as there was a problem with the aircraft. Well, nice room, good service, no problem really. Only I miss my home “cave”…
